Contrast: A difference created when elements are placed next to each other. Alignment: Every element in it is visually connected to another element. Repetition: The action of repeating something that has already been said or written. Proximity: Proximity minimizes visual clutter, emphasizes organization and increases viewer comprehension.

I think Principles of Design means designing things with different colors, including black and white, different shapes and patterns, like repetition.
